Coloressence Lip liner Review and Swatches

Coloressence Lip liner Review and Swatches
Review By Natasha
Hi girls,
I am back again with a review today on IBZ and this time a lip liner again from the house of Coloressence. Coloressence is a make up brand launched under the name of Nature's Essence which is essentially a skin care brand with lots of good skin care stuff. I have been a regular user of Coloressence brand since 2007. At that time they did have limited selection of products and was not widely available everywhere. The lip liner I shall be reviewing is called Color Essence Premium Shades 2 in 1 Eye and Lip Liner in Maroon which is meant for eyes and lips as well. Please read my review to know more about this product....

My Experience with Coloressence Lip liner:
The lip liner I would say comes not in a twist up but a normal pencil format. The cap is made of plastic but does sit tight on the lip liner.Well I would say it is travel friendly. The body of the pencil matches to that of the actual lip liner and everything printed on it is in silver. The ingredients are mentioned on the pencil itself which is good as most companies now a days do not bother mentioning about the ingredients. Sharpening always creates a mess hence I wish it was a twist up version. Overall decent packaging.

Coloressence is a 100% vegetarian brand as they have claimed always and does not test on animals. They have a wide range of make up from face to lips to eyes and have been updating their collection regularly. The shade is a pinkie maroon and I would say quite wearable unless you hate maroon color. This lip liner as claimed by them is a 2 in 1 product meant for lips as well as eyes. I don't know if anyone would like a maroon eye liner.. :P but then that is the concept on which they are selling the product. And let me tell you as an eye liner it is a fail because I applied it and when I rubbed it after a while it did smudge on me.

The lip liner unfortunately did not glide as smooth as the Anna Andre one I had reviewed last time around. As a lip liner it is good just for outlining but for filling in the lips it may not be that great as it did not glide smoothly. Well ideally lip liners are meant to be dry but it should not be that dry too. I am suffering from chapped lips and it did not glide well but when used along with a clear lip balm it was just about ok. I am not sure if this lip liner will make your lipstick last longer. Its just about average. The formula needs to be worked upon in my opinion.

My Likes with Coloressence Lip liner:

  • Easily available even online.
  • Concept of 2 in 1 is a good idea.
  • Does a good job of lining the lips.
  • 100% vegetarian brand.
  • Ingredients mentioned.
  • Travel friendly.

My Dislikes with Coloressence Lip liner:

  • Not smooth enough to fill in the lips.
  • Not long lasting.
  • Shade is not my personal favourite.
  • Sharpening leads to product wastage.
  • As an eye liner not good enough as it does smudge.

Rating: 2.5/5

Final Verdict:
I had reviewed the Anna Andre lip liner in the last review which was awesome and worth every buck but this one is not that great in my opinion. If you are curious you can try this but I would not recommend it. I hope my review was helpful to all reading it. Please leave your comments I would love to hear from you. I will see you all here in my next review.. ☺Love, Natasha
